A COLD snap, that is. Here I was blithely trotting into spring, perusing the online summer clothes offerings for my holiday in Sicily next month, when all of a sudden the weather went super cold again. In order to make the best of it, I pulled out an item of clothing from my closet that is best described as a ‘coatigan’ (half coat/half cardigan). This particular one is SO heavy and warm that I absolutely cannot wear it indoors; I can only cope with it outside if the weather is somewhere close to freezing. I don’t have any idea what it is made out of (I suspect lead and asbestos). It comes dangerously close to being frumpy if it isn’t styled right, so I threw on an old military style belt to de-bulk-ify it a little AND wore one of my beloved sequin skirts.
Back in November, I blogged about sequin skirts being a necessity on every woman’s style bucket list. I linked to a patterned sequin black maxi skirt (now sold out) but I said I’d style it with a chunky sweater and boots. So I did. And here it is.

April 7, 2015 at 3:43 AMThank you for posting these outfits featuring sequins for daytime. I love the way that you styled this look (as well as the other times you wore sequins a few months ago). I am receiving a sequin dress tomorrow for a special event- and I am looking for ways to dress it down after the event is over so I can get more use out of the dress… thank you for the inspiration! -Rebecca from http://www.daisydisdain.com

April 7, 2015 at 8:10 AMThank you Rebecca! I think it is a shame to save sequins for special occasions only, when they really can be worn so many ways now. Enjoy your new dress; may many sequin outfits commence! xx
