Tibi Cotton Satin Tunic…summer perfection.

Last summer, Vika Gazinskaya did this AMAZING collaboration with & Other Stories. There was one off the shoulder red dress (pictured below) that I really loved, but it was sold out before I could get my paws on it, and I think it might have been too voluminous for my too voluminous figure anyway.  Ditto the second dress, which was the most charming scribbled print with matching wedge heels, but a hard (if not impossible) silhouette to pull off.  Everything sold out before you could finish all of the syllables in “Vika Gazinskaya.”  I liked the style of the whole collection (as well as virtually everything Vika does), and it was exciting to see Vika Gazinskaya clothes at & Other Stories prices.

Fast forward to this year.  After missing out on the off the shoulder pieces above, I’ve had my eye out for something similar, but a little more workable and wearable.  I recently ran across this long, breezy, off the shoulder cotton shirt by Tibi (another brand I love) online and it fits the bill.

It looks so right to me; equal parts polished and casual.  It is nice and loose for warm holiday weather without looking sloppy, and would look appropriate in an urban environment as well.  It could be styled so many ways (I have to be honest, I don’t love it with that long white full skirt in the middle photo; white skinny jeans, maybe).  The problem is, I want ALL THREE COLOURS, so what to order?  White, because it looks so fresh, and if I spill anything on it there is always bleach to bring it back to its pristine glory.  Aqua, because it is my favourite colour and works well on me.  And Black, because there is nothing better, obviously, and it could be worn year-round. Some statement jewellery thrown on top (because this shirt is screaming for some jewellery), and that is my summer evening look sorted. I just need to try this on and see if it works for those of us with ample boobicles.

I especially love the style of this shirt because it is a little unidentifiable.  It is Asian? Is it a peasant blouse?  Is it boho?  Is it minimalist?  Or better yet, is it EVERYTHING all at once?!

Tell me what summer pieces you have your beady eyes on at the moment?

I agree…I think all three colors are beautiful…I can see where you have a problem. I do not know what to call the style except to say I like it!

I like how ambiguous it is! I’ve just seen a girl on Instagram wearing the white one with jeans while on holiday, and I have to say it looks super! Thank you Pam xx

Hmmm…almost impossible to pick a color in this lovely shirt! I laughed when you mentioned the “ample boobicles” because that was my first thought – would I be able to pull it off? I love everything Vika does too – love the dresses you shared.

I just bought a vintage black velvet off-the-dress and I love it! I’m looking for vintage iterations of modern trends, because it’s less expensive and the clothes are well-made. I need to find a great gingham piece for the Summer 🙂
