When Lisa Met Jamie… or when turquoise and sparkle collide!

I’ve been following Jamie Lewinger’s blog, More Than Turquoise, for years; I’ve always admired her high-octane attitude and style. We follow each other on Instagram, and through that, a little friendship has blossomed all the way from Albuquerque to London!  Imagine my delight when she said she would be in London for a few days.  I did what any style blogger worth her salt would do… I introduced her to one of my favourite local brands, Winser London of course, and we played dress-up with each other’s jewellery.  Jamie has a gorgeous collection of silver and turquoise jewellery, inspired by the Southwest where she lives and I have a gorgeous collection of jewellery inspired by my insane magpie love of anything sparkly :-).

I mean, just look at this gorgeous Navajo bow guard cuff from Jamie’s collection. So fierce!

Here’s Jamie wearing the sparkletastic Blue Waterfall necklace from my shop

I wasn’t even slightly worried about whether I’d like her or not; she’s even better in person than on her blog (isn’t everyone?).  A lady with her style is hardly going to be quiet and uninteresting  I mean LOOK at these red vinyl trousers in this post.  See why I love her?!  Anyone with the guts to wear those is my kind of babe.

I felt a little sorry for Jamie’s lovely husband who photographed us, because we chatted, cackled, and shrieked like two parrots the whole time we were together.  He did manage to catch us having a few serious moments too (I honestly have no idea how).

Before Jamie and I met up, I had been perusing Winser London’s website, trying figure out what I need to plug the gaps in my autumn/winter wardrobe.  As you know from reading this blog, they really are my go-to brand for wardrobe staples.  One item I  DESPERATELY needed was a pair of smart black jeans.  I adore my navy ones (worn here and here), but sadly/happily they’re too big now as I’ve lost a lot of weight recently (more on that soon).  I got the same ones but in black, and I’ve been wearing them on repeat.  I also needed a black v-neck light sweater to wear underneath everything (basically, a fancy winter tee shirt).  I’ve had a few from Zara in previous years, but they look shot at the end of a season.  This one is absolutely perfect… not too tight, not too loose, not too bulky.  The V neck is deep enough to show jewellery but not cleavage.   I wish it came in every colour of the rainbow.

Coincidentally, Jamie chose black pieces as well, so our clothes accidentally coordinated.  Even our taste in shoes is similar!  I feel like we could have traded entire outfits and would still look and feel right at home.

Here we are chatting away before we went to The Ivy nearby, and then continued chatting and cackling for another couple of hours.

Wow! Such interesting clothes and shoes … and in black! Jamie’s husband is a great photographer and/or the shooting locations are a fashion blogger’s paradise. That top photo is da bomb!

I want to hear all about your healthier lifestyle. So many people are now getting their health act together. In the last four years I’ve lost 100 pounds and rediscovered my 40s (I’ll be 72 later this year). It’s *never* too late to any of us to get healthier. The rewards are wonderful!

Yes, everything in black for both of us. Such a coincidence! We were just behind High Street Kensington, so there are some great locations to take photos there, and Jamie’s husband did a brilliant job.

I’m still busy working away on my healthier lifestyle post. I remember your amazing weight loss story; I think you are so SO inspiring, Anne. I agree that the rewards are worth it. In a nutshell (you’ll see LOTS more about this on my blog in the near future… it has been such a journey and I’ve learned so many things about myself I never knew, even at 48!) I’ve given up all sugar and all flour. I eat fruit of course, but no added sweetener of any type to any food. I’ve lost just over 20 pounds so far. I’ll keep going until I reach where I think works for me. Thank you for your lovely comments, I always love to hear from you. xx

I find that this happens more often: two bloggers meet and they are dressed in similar outfits or colours. Or exactly the opposite haha. You two look like models from a magazine shoot. I had a look through Jamie’s blog and yes she is indeed very inspiring. If there is anything I don’t need it is another blog to follow and more tempting fashion items to see haha. Those boots of yours… are they Jamie’s size? Or my size? (38 1/2 – 39). Hint.
Actually I think you will hold on to them until they are worn out. They are perfect. You look so good and so thin!!

Thank you so much for your kind comments, Greetje! Yes, Jamie’s blog is pretty amazing, isn’t it? I think these boots are a 39; I’ll have to put them in my will… the question is who will they go to, you or Jamie??? Thank you, darling. xx

oh you both look absolutely stunning and have gorgeous style. But that purse on the floor made my heart sink a little, then i figured out its because you ladies where having so much fun, you didn’t let something like a purse or a photographer hubby stop the fun. What a great intro to both of you, found you on Visible Mondays.

It’s so wonderful when you meet other fellow bloggers you admire. You both look so stylish. So funny that you guys are somewhat twinning unintentionally. That’s what Paris Fashion Week felt like for me and the girls. Our outfits often went together unintentionally as well. I love that you both have amazing accessories and footwear! So fun and chic!
