I’ve always wanted to have a splash of yellow in my wardrobe, but having blonde hair makes that hard. Yellow is a TRICKY colour on a blonde (aside from accessories). The only shade I can get away with is a pale creamy yellow, like butter. On a quick zip through Zara, I happened upon this yellow jacket which was not mustard and not saffron and not sunflower, but the perfect, cheery, pale, buttery, shade of sunshine. I was thrilled and grabbed it immediately (It is on sale right now if you need it too).
I rarely wear jeans in ‘real life’ so I rarely wear them on the blog either. This pair is Frame’s Le Garcon style, which I mentioned in my last post. I thought since I posted about them last week, I should at least show them to you! This pair is about four years old, so they have faded to a light almost-pastel blue. While they are too washed out to wear with a lot of things, they’re not too light to wear with a buttery yellow coat and other light colours. Keeping with my pastels theme, I wore a powder blue silk top and added some pink heels and a pink sequin clutch to my yellow coat. An outfit like a handful of sugared almonds.
By now, you know that I’m a more is more less is a bore kind of gal, so I added a rainbow necklace and some blue sunglasses and earrings… and a ring. This is the only photo where I’m not completely windblown; I had about thirty seconds where the wind was not blowing with full force. I’m not complaining, because it drove away the recent heat wave and made wearing a jacket possible! Most of the photos were a more disastrous version of the one below (basically me clawing hair out of my eyes and spitting it out of my mouth!).
This is the closest I ever get to a bicycle.
Today’s post is short and sweet because I’ve had an insanely busy week. It is about to get even busier once my son’s nursery school closes for the summer at the end of this week!

July 3, 2017 at 11:19 AMThis butter yellow looks amazing with pink & blue as you’ve styled it here Lisa. I’m a bit funny with yellow too but for me it’s the slight yellow tone in my skin. My face will suddenly go all weirdy jaundiced if I wear the wrong shade of yellow next to it. It is a tough colour to pull off but you’ve nailed it babe 😉
Oh & having never seen you in jeans before let me say, me likey! xxx

July 3, 2017 at 11:54 AMThanks so much, m’lady! I don’t think I’ll find a better yellow than this one, and it isn’t perfect on me, but it is good enough. Thanks about the jeans too… still feel a little out of place in them, but it is good to mix things up! xx

July 3, 2017 at 2:12 PMTrue, I have never seen you in jeans nor on a bicycle, Lisa 😉 The jeans look great the way you incorporated them into your personal sparkling style!
This light yellow is so pretty and I know how tricky it can be. Perfect with your hair though.
A bike is actually essential here in the countryside and this yellow one is so cute!

July 3, 2017 at 3:21 PMI would have never known you couldn’t wear yellow with this amazing jacket on you Lisa. I do think these pastel colors on you are so regal and quite elegant.
I love your jewelry too! You are a very talented lady!

July 3, 2017 at 9:10 PMThis is a very different look for you- the jeans and the softer shades- and you look beautiful in them. Yellow is tricky for me to wear too, yet it’s a colour I love. Gorgeous pics as always xxxx

July 5, 2017 at 7:30 AMThank you, lovely Liz. Another blonde… another one who yellow is tricky for! xx

July 4, 2017 at 1:57 AMI love this look Lisa and I love seeing you in jeans. Your butter yellow coat is gorgeous and perfect for UK. Love all the pastel colors here. The shoes and necklace are gorgeous and you still stayed true to your name with that fun sequined clutch. Wind – we have had a lot of that here in Michigan, lately. Your photos are still awesome. I love the ones by the bicycle, I never learnt how to ride one but it does make the perfect prop for pictures!
Welcome by Thursday this week and every Thursday and join my style linkup with me. =)) I miss your on the linkup.

July 5, 2017 at 7:30 AMThank you, Ada. It still feels weird wearing old jeans on the blog, but I’ve done it now! Thanks so much for your compliments, sweetie. I’ll try to remember to link on Thursday. xx

July 4, 2017 at 8:38 PMYou know exactly how to deal with tricky colours. Of course, add some sparkles and some saturated colours. Well done and looking sexy. Or better said: attractive.

July 5, 2017 at 7:27 AMThank you Abby! Yes, I think it would be a tricky colour for you too. You could wear the soft pale yellows like I can, I imagine. Love to you xx

July 6, 2017 at 1:09 PMMy comment keeps disappearing Lisa :o(
Trying again…
This outfit is full of my favourite things…. in fact, I would happily wear it right now! (Send it up to Scotland when you are fed up with it :oP)
I love how you have kept your palette light and pastel.
Normally pastels leave me cold, but this outfit is making me think again.
Those shoes are perfect and the yellow coat is making me (pastel) green with envy! :oP
Beautiful.

P.S….I love your photography, with the yellow “accessories” in every shot.

July 9, 2017 at 8:34 PMOh how annoying, sorry ’bout that Sam. I wonder why?!
I’m not usually much of a pastels girl myself; I’m a bright and jewel toned kind of gal. Wearing yellow was an unusual ‘challenge’ for me, but I enjoy wearing things out of my comfort zone. Thank you, gorgeous. xx

July 12, 2017 at 6:19 PMThis outfit is pastel perfection! I love the pale yellow coat. When I had blonde highlights I couldn’t wear yellow, it looked hideous on me. Dyeing my hair red made all the difference and now I love wearing yellow. I wanted to buy those shoes in the sale but they were sold out in my size ? Like I need more shoes, but then it’s never about need!

July 19, 2017 at 9:13 PMThank you so much, Emma. Yes the blonde colour is why I usually avoid yellow. I couldn’t resist this coat since it was in one of the FEW colours of yellow that I can (barely) get away with. I adore these shoes… I wish I’d bought them in the duck egg blue colour as well. They’re insanely comfortable. Thank you, gorgeous. xx
