320MHz skincare- my review

320MHz skincare review

I first heard about the skincare line, 320MHz, from a brief mention on Caroline Hirons’ YouTube Channel.  I immediately contacted Paul Berrow, the founder of the company, to get more information and to ask which products he would recommend for my nearly 50 year old skin. I have been completely hooked ever since (and for disclaimer purposes, no this post is not sponsored).   There is SO much to say, but I’ll give you the most succinct rundown I can; you can go explore on their website if you’d like more information after reading my post.

Honestly, I fell in love with 320MHz almost before I even tried it.  Here is why: There is not a single preservative in the entire range.  Not one chemical.  No parabens. No colourants. No solvents are used in the processing.  No mineral oils. No pH levels are manipulated. Every ingredient is sustainably sourced. No GMOs.  And of course no animal testing.  Basically, they are greener than green.  They let the life force of the plants do the work and they interfere as little as possible.

The name 320MHz comes from the brand’s belief that all organic life has a bio-energy, or life force that flows through it.  This energy can be expressed as an electromagnetic vibrational frequency.  Interestingly, essential oils have the highest frequency of any natural substance.  Basil oil’s frequency measures at 52 MHz and Bulgarian Rose Oil measures the highest, at 320MHz.  By comparison, fresh produce has a frequency of up to 15 MHz, most fresh herbs are between 20 and 17 MHz, and processed food has no measurable frequency at all.  The brand uses HUGE amounts of Bulgarian Rose essential oils in all of their (divine smelling) products, hence the 320 MHz name. To make its Bulgarian Rose Otto oil, 50 rose heads are steam-distilled to make a single drop.  Each of the ingredients (essential oils, seed oils, bio actives, clays) are carefully harvested and bottled by hand, to preserve the healing and transformational effects.  Dark glass packaging is used to protect the ingredients from degrading due to light; the products have a 30 month shelf life.

I’ve tried three products so far, each of which has totally knocked my socks off.  If you asked me what ONE product to try first as an introduction to the line, I’d say the Resurfacing Mask.  The first time I used it, I immediately messaged Paul to freak out about how good it was.  I wrote, “I am speechless here. HOW CAN YOU ACHIEVE THIS LEVEL OF EXFOLIATION WITHOUT ACIDS?” He sent me back this photo with the following explanation (although I still think there has to be some magic involved)–

Sea fossil particle

“Gentle but effective are always key words in our mantra.  We wanted to lift dead skin cells gently by loosening the bond between new and old cells using natural bio-actives and then deploy the polishing and removal effect of the perfectly spherical, non-scratchy sea fossil particles.  The sea fossil particles are labyrinthian in structure; they are super absorbent and saturated in a hydrated and cleansing serum oil formulation.  The rotating massage action releases the oils from the labyrinthian chambers and imbues the skin’s cells with a menu of delectably nutritious serum oils, to leave the skin cleansed and hydrated.”  What’s crazier, you only leave this soft rose-scented creamy mask on for a few minutes, and your skin feels like glass afterwards.  Any acid product (lactic, salicylic, glycolic) takes much longer to work and often requires a physical exfoliant (crystals, marble powder, enzymes) as well. Here is the entire ingredient list of the Resurfacing Mask: organic rose otto essential oil, diatomaceous earth (where the sea fossil particles are found), moringa tree oil, olive squalene, chia seed oil, arctic raspberry seed oil, and rock samphire extract.  That’s it.  That’s why I’m convinced there is some magic involved.  Maybe an eye of newt or some unicorn eyelashes? As I wrote to Paul, it is truly a dream product.

The other two products I am using daily and nightly are oils.  Hydration Recovery is what I use after cleansing every morning.  I use the rollerball applicator to apply the oil in a light layer over my clean face and neck, blending it in with my fingers.  I use a little extra underneath my eyes and at my temples where my eczema dragon lives.  In cold weather, I use a moisturiser on top of the oil.  In warmer weather, I don’t bother… I just apply makeup right on top after giving it a few minutes to sink in while I brush my teeth.  At night, after cleansing I repeat the same thing using the Age-Repair Sleep Elixir.  It is also an oil, also in the same hygenic rollerball format.  Like the Resurfacing Mask, what blows my mind about these products is the short but sharp ingredient list.  The Hydration Recovery has only eight: organic rose otto, organic neroli, moringa oil, baobab oil, arctic lingonberry seed oil, olive squalene, salicornia herbacea extract, and wakame seaweed macroalgae.  The Age-Repair Sleep Elixir has nine: organic rose otto, organic neroli, moringa oil, arctic cranberry, olive squalene, oat seed oil, rock samphire, lavandula, and chia seed oil.

320MHz packaging

From Paul, “All plant oils are distilled from the most premium crops, hand selected for their vibrational resonation and exceptional quality with every batch producing a unique and limited edition harvest, distillation and certification for bottling. 320MHz are committed to bio diversity and the preservation of ancient botanicals in small communities with Green World Campaign www.greenworld.org.  Paul is a trustee of the Green World Campaign.  For every purchase from 320MHz, a drought-resistant Moringa tree is planted.

I honestly feel like this is exactly the kind of skincare I would create if I could do it myself.  It gives back to the communities that work hard to produce it.  Each ingredient is active and pure; there are no fillers. There is no plastic in the packaging. It is as luxurious as it is ‘green.’  And it delivers incredible results.   I’ve tried so many ranges of beauty and skincare over the years; this is what I’ve been waiting for.  In our Amazon-run world (the irony of the name never ceases to goad me) I have so much respect for a business like 320MHz that holds itself to standards beyond just profit margins and market share.  As a consumer and as I blogger, I take my purchases seriously, and do my part to support businesses that are run in a principled way. It is easy to do when the products work this well.  I’d send every one of you a Resurfacing Mask if I could!  I don’t necessarily want to buy the world a Coke, but wouldn’t it be a better place if everyone had a good resurfacing mask?!  I’ll do an update when I try some of the other products.

(I know someone will ask–  yes, they do ship internationally and shipping is free for all orders over £100).

I can’t. I can’t……..except it’s called “Age Rejuvenation” and it lifts dead skin cells gently by loosening the bond between new and old cells using natural bio-actives and then deploys a polishing and removal effect of the perfectly spherical, non-scratchy sea fossil particles. Which actually DOES sound like magic- so I probably will. 🙂 Thanks for keeping me in the know!
