Perfect7 Renewal Advanced

My quest to improve my skin leads me to try a lot of unusual things, from eating frozen algae (tastes terrible and has no effect) to using facial masks made of baking powder and yeast (smells dreadful but exfoliates brilliantly).  When Seven Seas asked me to trial their new Perfect7 Renewal Advanced for 60 days before the product launched, I leapt at the chance.  It sounded almost too good to be true. Three little pills (a multivitamin and mineral tablet, an omega-3 capsule, and a ceramoside capsule) with a scientifically proven claim to reduce the appearance of wrinkles in 60 days.  I couldn’t start soon enough!

I love that Seven Seas was so confident in their product’s effectiveness that they invited a skin specialist to use a machine which measures skin’s visible hydration levels, elasticity, and overall smoothness to test my skin before and after the 60 day trial.  Also, I appreciate data and numbers much more than a hunch or a compliment, so having access to equipment that could measure any visible improvement was super exciting for me.  I already take daily supplements,  so I was glad to see that Renewal Advanced contains Zinc for healthy nails, Biotin for healthy hair, vitamin C for collagen formation, Iron for energy, and vitamin D for immune system support, which offers an easy replacement to my supplement program.

Seven Seas Perfect7

The hero of the Perfect7 Renewal Advanced trio is the “ceramoside™” capsule, which is a trademarked wheat-derived ceramide. Ceramides have been used topically in skincare for years, but this product is a UK first of its kind made to be taken orally.  In the uppermost layers of our skin, 50% of  the moisture barrier is made up of ceramide molecules (the remainder is made of cholesterol and fatty acids).  These act as a protective lipid ‘cement’ which holds skin cells together. Unfortunately, just like the supportive collagen and elastin in the skin’s middle layers, ceramide levels decline as we age.  Skin begins to look thinner, dryer, and less elastic, which results in the visible signs of ageing.

In the next post, I’ll give you all the details of my before and after skin analysis results and let you know what visual changes I’ve seen in my skin during the last 60 days.  I’ll also share some skincare tips I’ve learned over the years that make a difference.  If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I was worried Perfect7 Renewal might temporarily sell out right after the launch on August 20th, so I made sure to stock up!  It is sold exclusively at Boots, £39.99 for the trio pack, or £34.99 for the duo pack which doesn’t include the multivitamin and mineral tablet.  I’ve had quite a few friends online and in real life ask me about my skin lately, so I’m glad my 60 day trial period is over and I can finally share this with you.  I’m super excited to have discovered something that shows measurable results on the appearance of my skin.

Nice! Your science writing is as accessible and readable as your posts about glittery footwear. Looking forward to the before and after but I don’t really need them to trust your opinion. Off to research ceramides available here… thanks Lisa!

Thank you, Mithra! I have stocked up on this so I never run out, just in case. I’m an adherent to the If It Ain’t Broke Don’t Fix It (or change a single thing!) theory. xx
