As a rule, I’m not a slogan shirt kind of gal. But rules are made to be broken (especially fashion related ones) so I do have this sweatshirt… mostly because it has silver sequins and sequins make everything better, including a slogan. I usually don’t wear slogans because for things I feel so strongly about that I would want to emblazon it on my shirt and wear it over and over again (things like GMO labelling, deforestation, or endangered species), a shirt never seemed like a very useful outlet for discussion. I know this from experience because as a University student, I regularly wore tee shirts with slogans like “Love Animals, Don’t Eat Them” and “Meat is Murder” and guess how many people decided to become vegetarian because of my slogan tee shirts? Probably zero. Pointless, really. A couple of weeks ago my dear friend (hi, Giselle!) gave me this ‘I’m So Glamorous I Sweat Glitter’ slogan tee because she found it in Tesco (I know!) and felt it was meant for me. I love it. It has sparkly writing on it (always a plus) and I appreciate how obnoxious it is. If you added a swear word or two, it could be a lyric in a Nicki Minaj song. In keeping with my usual More is More philosophy of dressing, I wore it on this spring day with a sequin blazer. My hair needs cutting, I haven’t had much sleep because my son has had nursery illness number 9,742 this year, and I’m looking and feeling knackered in general… so I figured a sequin blazer and a slogan tee are the best forms of distraction for today. What about you, do you wear slogan tee shirts? What does your say?
The blazer I’m wearing came from Zadig & Voltaire a few years ago, but they always seem to have a few on offer. Here are some others I turned up online:

April 25, 2016 at 9:42 PMAww, thank you Michelle! What is even funnier is that she bought me several of them, and had me try them on in different sizes to see which worked best, and took back the rest. She’s an amazing friend. xx

April 26, 2016 at 8:27 PMFirst of all, I’m sorry for what your son and your family are going through. I hope all will be well soon.
Second, the location for your photo shoot is positively dreamy.
Third, Yep, the tee was meant for you 🙂
Lisa
April 26, 2016 at 8:29 PMThanks so much, Glenda. I’m told once they reach 5 years old, the resistance builds up and they aren’t sick so much :-(.
I’m so pleased you like the blooms and the tee! xx

April 27, 2016 at 4:38 AMI totally need more slogan tees or message tees like this. I love the tee and what it says. Certainly it was perfect for that sequined blazer. I have a blazer just like that and similar skinny black pants too. I am sorry about your son. Hope he feels better very soon!
Don’t forget to stop by and linkup with me on Thursday, Lisa. Thank you.

April 30, 2016 at 6:28 PMI love the blazer and when I first started reading the post, I hadn’t properly looked at the pics so I thought the sequins were in the t-shirt but as I scrolled it was on the blazer. I have one similar but it’s a shawl collar. I love the broken rules combo you have going on. Would love if you can link up to http://the-wardrobe-stylist.com/2016/04/24/mothers-day-rings/

May 4, 2016 at 8:09 AMGorgeous. Stylish, chic and not too serious. It looks brilliant as do you. I hope your son is ok. I remember those days well of children coming home with nursery illnesses. It does get better and less frequent. Beautiful photos as always Lisa xxxxx

May 4, 2016 at 10:11 AMThank you so much, Liz! I can’t wait for the illness to stop (she types, from under a mountain of tissues). xx
Sheela Goh
May 10, 2016 at 9:43 PMI love you more than I already do, Lisa!!! Hahahaha!! Love it 🙂 I too have a few choice tees. One says, “Goal Digger”, another, “I’m a nice bitch”, and a third fave, “Don’t f** with my happy place”, the f word being completely spelt out. I’m really truly sorry if the profanities offend, Lisa but those are the ones I wear all the time, mostly to the gym, but I think I ought to follow your example and (perhaps) parade them to the world as well xoxo
Lisa
May 12, 2016 at 9:35 PMI love ALL of your slogan tee choices! There is no profanity on this earth that offends me, Sheela, you’re in good company! xx

May 15, 2016 at 7:44 AMYou look amazing Lisa! This top deserved you breaking the non-slogan rule! I am not wearing slogans but if I find something that suits me like this one that Giselle very well chose for you, I would definitely wear it! Love how you styled it up with the sequin jacket!

May 20, 2016 at 7:49 PMI am trying to make a blog post about the 3040 Blogger Meet but every time I check a link I am down the rabbit hole. I just had to comment on this post.
I love the T-shirt (it made me grin) and I cannot think of a better thing to wear it with than this sequin blazer. You so look the part. Absolutely fabulous.

Thank you so much, Greetje! xx

May 21, 2016 at 6:35 AMI love the T-shirt and I love the idea of adding a swear word or two. Hahaha. The petals look like little pink sequins too. Best obnoxious I’ve seen in a long time. (But you look fabulous!) Thank you!
