Humour makes life better.  When it comes to fashion, most of us don’t think about adding humour into our looks.  We dress like grownups and forget that sometimes Style really should be about pure fun (Ok, not at a funeral.  Or a job interview.  But you know… other times).  I’m really pleased to see that there are plenty of items around recently that fall into the fun or seriously quirky category.  One of my favourites is this Joanna Pybus Liquorice Monster bag (in faux fur, which I have history with) which I spotted on someone in Paris and tracked down for myself.  I wear it with an otherwise serious outfit, or fun-ify an otherwise boring little black dress.

vegetarian friend

Because I probably AM that annoying Vegatarian friend, I love this Pamela Barsky pouch.

pierre hardy shoes eyes

These Pierre Hardy sandals have captivated me since I first laid eyes on them, but so far I’ve resisted the temptation to buy them.  Luckily, my size keeps selling out everywhere.

If I’m just running around the city doing errands, sometimes a clutch just big enough for keys, wallet, and phone is all I feel like carrying, but I wouldn’t use a nice evening clutch for these purposes.  The only thing that could make this more perfect for me is if it said Dark Chocolate rather than Milk.

fish purse

My inner 5 year old is screaming to have this goldfish coin purse.  Who am I kidding?  My outer 45 year old wants it too!

Markus Lupfer Cat Bat

And lastly, I present this luscious merino wool sequin Cat-Bat sweater, because there is nothing not to love here; sequins, a cozy knit, and a kitten dreaming of defying boundaries.

Do you have any fun quirky pieces in your wardrobe?  If so, tell me about them in the comments.  If not, go gitcha some!

Just posted my quirkiest fashion item Saturday on Facebook. Multicolor mile high wedges. And I’m 5″8. Like I needed another 8 inches vertically. I still dig them but will dig them more on a friend of a more diminutive stature.

I saw those Kellie, and LOVED them. I’m also 5’8″, and I love towering over people. If it is ok for Jenna Lyons to wear high heels every day at 6′ tall, so can we!
