Before my friend Michelle leaves the UK for the US next month (sob!), we thought we’d have a nice lunch in Notting Hill and make a quick outfit post together. We both have lots of leopard print and pink in our wardrobes so it was easy to coordinate ourselves (Bloggers! Imagine women over 40 planning their outfits like schoolgirls! Honestly, it is just as much fun now as it was back then, so I’m not even slightly embarrassed. Also, we’ve got form for doing this). I just received an email this morning from J Crew that is all about wearing leopard, pink, and gold… there is nothing new under the sun, or at least not in fashion.
Rearranging Michelle’s hair in the wind!
I’m wearing a positively ancient raincoat by Paule Ka. If you don’t know this ladylike French brand, you should investigate. I’m not a fan of their separates, but the dresses and coats are always particularly strong and usually have a nod to the 1960s style that I love. Paule Ka is NOT shy of a bow (see what I mean on this new season red dress). My coat even has a bow at the waist, although it is hard to see with all the leopard print. What I appreciate most about Paule Ka is that their pieces don’t date, the quality is great, the prices aren’t insane, and you don’t see everyone else wearing it.
Since I’ve just returned from Austria, my post is short and sweet this week. I’m busy unpacking ski gear and doing sheet mask after sheet mask to get my skin back to normal after the extreme cold. Thankfully I had these photos from before I left! Enjoy your week, and I’ll see you in your Inbox soon. xx

February 19, 2018 at 10:49 PMWhat a dynamic duo! Must be so nice to have a local bff who gets all the craziness of blogging. You could collab on a fun sleepover post w/ cool silk pjs (remember those sequin ones we saw, Lisa?!), satin mules, and plush throws. Favorite healthy snacks, and a viewing of Bridesmaids. All set!
Lisa
February 20, 2018 at 10:40 AMOHHHHHHH, I still dream about those sequin pyjamas we saw together! Yes, a sleepover post would be a super idea… maybe we’ll have to do that when I go visit Michelle in the States! xx
No Fear of Fashion
February 20, 2018 at 6:47 AMThis was a great shoot. Your husband did such an excellent job I was a little envious. The coordination was terrific, such a balanced couple of good looking women. Love your shoes very much but your coat would do too ??.
Have a good week.

February 20, 2018 at 10:41 AMYou always appreciate his photography, and he always VERY much appreciates your compliments, which I pass along to him. Thank you, Greetje! I wish I had bought those shoes in the other colours they came in… M&S knows how to make very comfortable heels. xx

February 20, 2018 at 11:12 AMM&S?? I thought they were Cloé or some other high end designer.
Lisa
February 20, 2018 at 11:17 AMNope! Nikki has them in black. They also came in a fabulous duck egg blue. I wish I had them in both of those as well as the pink. The M&S Insolia shoes are ridiculously comfortable and not too high. I’m always checking on their website once every few weeks to see what they have; the good stylish stuff sells out super fast (like the red suede open toe booties I missed out on last autumn). xx

February 20, 2018 at 9:50 AMIt may have been a short ‘n sweet post but when you have outfits/photos/gorgeous women like this who needs words?!!!!! Not only are you your outfits both totally spot-on Lisa (that coat is an absolute winner, as is the pink beret) but it shows you that being 40-50+ is NO BARRIER to looking stylish. ALL women who bemoan getting older should be shown these pictures – who gives a monkeys about age when you look this good…?!
Catherine x
P.S. Off to get myself a pink beret now 😉
Lisa
February 20, 2018 at 10:45 AMThank you SO much, Catherine! I sort of wanted to keep Michelle’s beret for myself… I’m also on the lookout for a pink one now, so good for spring outfits, and it is nice to have such a flattering colour near the face (bonus!). xx

February 20, 2018 at 11:25 AMI agree with Catherine, your photos are so beautiful, words are hardly needed! You both look absolutely gorgeous. I bet you were both eyed-up a lot in Notting Hill – two gorgeous gals in gorgeous outfits!
You must be so sad about Michelle leaving the UK but maybe it just means more visits to NY 😉

February 24, 2018 at 12:02 PMHi Lisa! Leopard and pink! So fabulous 🙂 I’m normally a leopard and black or leopard and red – but you know what? Why not leopard and ANY FLIPPING COLOUR?! You both wear it so well and I loved how your friendship shines through here! Lots of hugs, Lisa xx
Lisa
February 28, 2018 at 1:35 PMAbsolutely, Lisa! Leopard is a neutral, so why not put it with absolutely anything? I’m so glad you liked the post. xx
