Instead of a blog post, I’m sharing my second Five Favourite Things video. Just like when you hang up the phone with someone you remember all the things you forgot to mention in the conversation, I keep remembering things that I forgot to mention in the video! I’ll note some of them here. First and foremost, I keep forgetting that I can’t add links to the bottom of my YouTube videos yet (you have to produce more content before you’re allowed to do that), so I’ll add them here on the blog. The second is be sure to order your regular size and not go down a size (like the Amazon reviews suggested to me) if you order the Spanx leggings; you lose the ‘leather’ effect if they are too stretched. Lastly, sorry about the cut on my finger; there’s no way to edit that out!
I hope you enjoy watching. The links to all the products are below the video. xx

February 4, 2018 at 9:20 PMOh goodness, thank you so much, Michelle. I certainly find it easier to talk than have my photo taken, so maybe I’ll eventually be a vlogger instead of a blogger!? xx

February 5, 2018 at 1:17 AMNicely done, Lisa! I continue to think you should be on the telly / tube / big screen.
And one of these days, please tell us about the facial treatments you MUST undergo that make you appear as though you’ve signed a very favorable contract with a deity to look like you were born yesterday. Honestly, that glow is getting brighter.
Lisa
February 5, 2018 at 2:12 PMOh thank you Ann! If only everyone felt like you… you cannot believe how many email unsubscribes I get every time I do a video! Video shows a different side of you; not everyone who likes you in a photo likes you in a video.
Facial treatment wise, I can tell you what makes the biggest difference in my skin is eating 14 ounces (400 grams) of vegetables every single night at dinner. Since I’ve been doing Bright Line Eating, my skin has totally transformed. For my eczema, eating a few generous spoons of ground flax seed on my porridge every morning helps a lot too. Other than that, I can only say that the lighting (when I do video, I face directly into a window) and my makeup both help a lot! Maybe I’ll do a makeup or skincare tutorial video one day. Then you can see the before and after. xx

February 7, 2018 at 12:34 AMLisa, I’d LOVE to see both skincare and makeup tutorials. Please consider those. xoxo
Lisa
February 10, 2018 at 3:03 PMOh, I’ll do that then! I have such cantankerous skin, so I generally figure anything that works for me will be twice as good on anyone else. xx

February 6, 2018 at 9:25 PMYou are a natural at this. The BBC might be calling soon.
For some reason, make-up just isn’t my thing. At all. Strange isn’t it? For a woman who loves to adorn herself.
I have done the colour thing and I agree that it works, but sometimes I just ignore it. Or apply the same tricks as you do. With exception of the different make-up haha.
Gorgeous colour on you too, that coral.

February 10, 2018 at 3:02 PMThank you, Greetje! I feel very out of my depth in video, but I try to pretend like I’m just chatting to a friend and forget that there is a camera. I’m surprised that you aren’t into makeup, very surprised! You are into hair, THAT I know from reading your blog. xx

I’d really love make-up tutorials by you too – your make always looks exquisite.
I’m going online for the Trinny BFF, next.
Lisa
February 10, 2018 at 2:58 PMOh, thank you Marianne! I’ll get a makeup tutorial together then! Let me know how you like the Trinny BFF. xx

February 9, 2018 at 5:55 AMWhat do you like so much about the brush?
Lisa
February 10, 2018 at 2:57 PMI like that it isn’t made out of animal hair. I like that it doesn’t eat my foundation; so many of my foundation brushes seem to absorb twice as much foundation as I use on my face. It gives an amazing finish to any makeup I use, AND it doesn’t leave any brush tracks on my skin. I really need to have a backup one, just in case! xx

February 12, 2018 at 2:38 PMFrustrated that Spanx doesn’t sell petites. If I’m spending $100 on leggings, I want them to fit perfectly, without having to roll up under boots or to get hemmed at additional cost.
Lisa
February 14, 2018 at 2:00 PMYes, I completely agree with you, it is surprising that they sell plus sizes, but don’t do petites. Check the measurements of the XS or S sizes; they MAY work for you. The regular sizes tend to run a little short, so they just might do the trick, depending on how petite you are. It is worth a shot if returns are free (like via Amazon). xx

February 12, 2018 at 5:44 PMI really enjoyed this video. I’d love to see how you use the brush to put on your makeup. Do you need to wash it after each application of the cream foundation? I would think that it would stick to the brush a lot. Do you use the brush to apply other makeup as well?
BTW, that color does look great on you.
One more question… How do you do your lashes? They look great.
Lisa
February 14, 2018 at 2:05 PMHi Dottie! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! I do a swirl and tap technique with the brush… perhaps it would be a good idea to do a video sometime to demonstrate. I don’t wash it after cream foundation application. I probably wash it about once a month? It doesn’t ‘eat’ and absorb makeup in the same way that most foundation brushes do. I only use it to apply cream or liquid foundation and concealers.
For my lashes, I use the Kevin Aucoin eyelash curler. I also use the Rodin + Fields lash serum (for growth on upper lashes) and I use Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara or Mac False Lashes mascara.
Thanks so much xx
